Welcome to Safford Schools!
We are happy to welcome you to Safford Schools! Below is information to help make a smooth transition for your child into a new school.
Organization for instruction at Safford Schools:
- Grades K-6 will attend Dorothy Stinson School, Lafe Nelson School or Ruth Powell School.
- Grades 7-8 will attend Safford Middle School.
- Grades 9-12 will attend Safford High School or Mt. Graham High School.
2025-2026 New Student Registration Information
The 2025-2026 school year will start July 23, 2025 and will end May 21, 2026.

Registration for grades 1-12 will open in the summer.
2024-2025 New Student Registration Information
The 2024-2025 school year will start July 24, 2024 and will end May 22, 2025.
The registration process begins online for students in grades K-8 and students in grades 9-12 who will attend Safford High School. Please complete the enrollment form for each student. The form must be completed by the parent/legal guardian of the student.

The following documents and forms ARE ALSO REQUIRED before enrollment will be completed.
Required Forms - (paper forms can be completed at the Safford District Office at 734 W 11th Street, Safford)
- Home Language Survey
- AZ Proof of Residency Form
Required Documents: - (please bring them to the Safford District Office at 734 W 11th Street, Safford)
- Student's Birth Certificate (certified copy, not hospital copy)
- Student's Immunization Record
- Proof of Promotion - for incoming 9th graders
- Proof of Residency DOCUMENTATION - document MUST display parent/legal guardian name and current residential address where student resides (NO P.O. Boxes allowed and only one document is required)
Acceptable Proof of Residency documents:
- Valid Arizona driver's license or Arizona identification card
- Valid Arizona motor vehicle registration
- Real estate deed or mortgage documents
- Property tax bill
- Residential lease or rental agreement
- Water, electric, gas, cable, or phone bill
- Bank or credit card statement
- W-2 wage statement
- Payroll stub
- Documentation from a state, tribal or federal government agency (ex: AZ Department of Economic Security)

- ESEA (Title I) & E-Rate Income Eligibility Survey - Please complete this confidential survey at bit.ly/susdincome2024 to help us retain critical federal funding at SUSD
- Guardianship papers (REQUIRED if living with a guardian instead of a parent)
- Withdrawal Form from the previous school
- Special Education Records (IEP)

Additional Enrollment Documents (if needed)
Shared Residence Form - Form to be used if parent/legal guardian does not have documentation to support use of Proof of Residency Form.
Guardianship Form - Limited Power of Attorney - Form to be used if needed to delegate power to an individual to act in behalf of child.

Note: A certified copy of the student's birth certificate must be provided within thirty days of first enrollment.
