Superintendent's Message

  • Safford Bulldog Students and Families (and Everyone else who checks our website) -TBSDIA

    Hello Bulldog Family,

As we are part-way through our last quarter, I can't help but think of what we were doing at this time last year.  School was completely virtual and little did we know we would be faced with one of the most unusual starts to a school year.  Hind site is always 20/20 as the saying goes, and thank goodness SUSD moved to a hybrid in early September and full in-person learning in early October.  We've been in-person ever since.

The pandemic hit our staff harder in November and December, but we made it through and I'm so proud of our staff and how they've stepped up time and time again to make this year work.  I was at one of our recent track meets and it was so good to see kids competing from many different schools.  Staff, Rotary, and community members donated their time to make this 25-team event happen.  On that sports note, congratulations to our state champion wrestling team!

I feel we are very blessed as we continue to gain traction this year, our students finish strong in learning and school experiences, and we plan for a regular school year next year.

    Together We Can! GO BULLDOGS!
