Welcome to Safford High School Art Classes ~ Rock Your ART Out!
This will be my tenth year at Safford High School, and I'm looking forward to seeing all my returning students and new freshman! I will be teaching Art 1: Arts & Crafts, Art 1: Drawing & Painting, Art 2: Intermediate Art, Art 3/4: Advanced Art, & multiple levels of Ceramics! I teach several art forms, but my personal favorites that I do are ceramics and printmaking. I am currently working on earning my 2nd Master's Degree in Art Education from The Art of Education University, Iowa (through online classes). My husband and I have 2 labrador dogs and 2 wonderful little kiddos (daughter and son).
Please take a look at the couple items below my introduction here to see our newest information about classes and how to get started this year.

WOW! FREE MASKS FOR STUDENTS!!
Here is a message from the Arizona Superintendent of Education - Kathy Hoffman...
Wearing a mask is one of the best ways to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, which is why school staff and students can get FREE masks thanks to the Arizona Department of Health Services #MaskUpAZ
And here is ANOTHER option for getting Free Masks...
Click this link, scroll down, and place an order for 5 free masks from the CDC. YOU HAVE TO USE YOUR HOME ADDRESS! You can only get 5 per household/address.

Parent / Guardian Contact
At this time, I only ask that parents please update their contact information with me, even if I've gotten you information in the past, please update it for me with my new system. With all the uncertainty of this school year, I need to have contact with you regarding your student(s). Most of the time, I will not be bothering you unless it is essential to your student's education or behavior, and especially with working through distance learning it is so very important to have good communication. All you need to do is answer a couple quick, easy questions on the following Google Form (no, you will not need a Google Account - it is open for any and all devices that can access the link). Thank you for your time and I look forward to seeing what wonderful projects your student(s) will create this year!!
PLEASE COMPLETE THE CONTACT QUESTIONNAIRE BELOW...

How to Find Resources & Information Regarding Classes
I have compiled many resources and information to help parents, especially during this very unusual time, and you can find them all in one convenient location. Please look to the left of your screen (on desktop/laptop computers) or look for the dropdown arrow next to my name (on mobile devices) for the "Resources" page. There you will find help with Google Classroom, ClassTag, and Class Supply Lists. At this time, I only have the 3 resources, but they are essential to starting the year so please view them ASAP.
I have also begun adding a copy of the information your student(s) will see on Google Classroom to my "Calendar" page (found in same location as the "Resources" page) and it will tell you when each assignment is due. Students will not be able to work from the "Calendar" page, it is only a resource for you to know what it is they are supposed to be working on. Unfortunately it will only have the brief description and instructions on the "Calendar" page, but no attachments so your student will need to access attachments from Google Classroom.
