Mrs. Rachel Casperson
Hello and thank you for visiting my page! My name is Rachel Casperson and this is my fifth year as the general music teacher and Bulldog Express choir director for Dorothy Stinson School. I am an Arizona native and grew up in Mesa. I graduated from Skyline High School in 2011 and received the full AIMS scholarship to attend Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. During my time there, I starred in an opera, participated in world-renowned choirs (including the Shrine of the Ages choir and the Harter Handbell Choir), performed in recitals, gave and received voice lessons, and worked as a literal singing waitress at Black Bart's Steakhouse. I student taught over 600 students at Snowflake Junior High and Snowflake High School. I assisted in the production of the high school's annual musical. I also had sole responsibility over instructing the Advanced women's choir and the Intermediate Mixed Choir at the high school as well as the two girl's choirs and 1 boy's choir at the middle school.
In 2016, I received my Bachelor of Music Education degree and moved to Safford to be with family. I worked as an emergency sub for the Safford School district and as a private tutor until I was hired as the official music teacher for Dorothy Stinson School in 2018. Since then, I have helped over 500 students per year expand their hearts and horizons by putting on grade-level concerts, reviving the DSS Bulldog Express choir for 5th and 6th grade, and putting the fun back in music class! I am happy to be part of this school, this district, and this community. Go Bulldogs!!
