New Student Registration Information

Welcome to Safford Schools!
We are happy to welcome you to Safford Schools! Below is information to help make a smooth transition for your child into a new school.
Organization for instruction at Safford Schools:
- Grades K-6 will attend Dorothy Stinson School, Lafe Nelson School or Ruth Powell School.
- Grades 7-8 will attend Safford Middle School.
- Grades 9-12 will attend Safford High School or Mt. Graham High School.
2023-2024 Registration Information
The 2023-2024 school year started July 26, 2023 and will end May 23, 2024.
The registration process begins online for students in grades K-8 and students in grades 9-12 who will attend Safford High School. Please complete the enrollment form for each student. The form must be completed by the parent/legal guardian of the student.
SUSD New Student Enrollment Form
The following documents ARE ALSO REQUIRED before enrollment will be completed. The documents may be uploaded to the enrollment form or brought in to the Safford Schools District Office at 734 W 11th Street, Safford, AZ or emailed to lhuffenberger@saffordusd.com.
- Student's Birth Certificate (certified copy, not hospital copy)
- Student's Immunization Record
- Proof of Residency DOCUMENTATION - document MUST display parent/legal guardian name and current residential address where student resides (NO P.O. Boxes allowed and only one document is required)
- Acceptable Proof of Residency documents:
- Valid Arizona driver's license or Arizona identification card
- Valid Arizona motor vehicle registration
- Real estate deed or mortgage documents
- Property tax bill
- Residential lease or rental agreement
- Water, electric, gas, cable, or phone bill
- Bank or credit card statement
- W-2 wage statement
- Payroll stub
- Documentation from a state, tribal or federal government agency (ex: AZ Department of Economic Security)
- Acceptable Proof of Residency documents:
- Guardianship papers (if living with a guardian instead of a parent) (can be downloaded from the SUSD website and must be notarized)
Please provide the withdrawal form from the previous school.
Mt. Graham High School NEW Student Enrollment

Shared Residence Form
Form to be used if parent/legal guardian does not have documentation to support use of Proof of Residency Form.

Guardianship Form - Limited Power of Attorney
Form to be used if needed to delegate power to an individual to act in behalf of child.
