  • Welcome to Safford Schools!

    We are happy to welcome you to Safford Schools! Below is information to help make a smooth transition for your child into a new school.

    Organization for instruction at Safford Schools:

    • Grades K-6 will attend Dorothy Stinson School, Lafe Nelson School or Ruth Powell School.
    • Grades 7-8 will attend Safford Middle School.
    • Grades 9-12 will attend Safford High School or Mt. Graham High School.
    • Online Learning Grades 9-12 will attend Henry Dunkerson Pathways Academy.

    2021-2022 Registration Information

    The registration process begins online.  Please complete the corresponding online enrollment form below for each student. Form must be completed by parent/legal guardian of student.

    The following documents ARE ALSO REQUIRED before enrollment can be completed. All forms can be downloaded from this site and uploaded to the school dropbox link located in the enrollment form links on this page. You may also email the forms to lhuffenberger@saffordusd.com, fax them to 928-348-7001 attention: Lesley Huffenberger, or bring in the required documents and forms to the district office.

    • Student's Birth Certificate (certified copy, not hospital copy)
    • Student's Immunization Record
    • Home Language Survey Form (download from SUSD website or paper forms available at district office)
    • Proof of Residency FORM (download from SUSD website or paper forms available at district office)
    • Proof of Residency DOCUMENTATION - document MUST display parent/legal guardian name and current residential address where student resides (NO P.O. Boxes allowed and only one document is required)
      • Acceptable Proof of Residency documents:
        • Valid Arizona driver's license or Arizona identification card
        • Valid Arizona motor vehicle registration
        • Real estate deed or mortgage documents
        • Property tax bill
        • Residential lease or rental agreement
        • Water, electric, gas, cable, or phone bill
        • Bank or credit card statement
        • W-2 wage statement
        • Payroll stub
        • Documentation from a state, tribal or federal government agency (ex: AZ Department of Economic Security)
    • Guardianship papers (if living with a guardian instead of a parent) (can be downloaded from the SUSD website and must be notarized)
    • Certificate of Promotion for new 9th graders
